So your child has decided to pursue a college degree and career in performance. You might be wondering: What exactly are we getting ourselves into? My parents (and I) asked the very same question years ago when I chose to major in dance.

What I didn’t have at the time, however, was someone to guide me through the process—someone who could help me navigate college applications, evaluate programs, and mentor me in building a career that’s sustainable not just artistically, but also physically, mentally, and financially.
